Curated Living in the Pearl

Lapchi handmade rugs Ozer and Metaphore are important design elements in the new Vista North Pearl Condominiums’ bourgeoning Pearl District in Portland, Oregon. The Vista Project from Hoyt Street Properties follows the widely acclaimed Cosmopolitan Building and continues their highly successful collaboration with Bora Architects.

Vista’s vision to create curated living within the city is translated literally into the elegant seating area of the soaring two-story lobby.

Lapchi’s Ozer in a neutral palette anchors the setting as a nearly iridescent surface. The circular geometry of the pattern evokes the different phases of the moon, partially obscured by clouds in a midnight sky which in turn infuse an organic dance throughout the design.

Above, hundreds of diaphanous suspended glass bulbs, by renowned Vitreluxe artist Lynn Everett Read, illuminate the space and complement the curving forms of Ozer below them. The simple elements that define the lobby create a dynamic space with endless opportunities for discovery.

On an upper level of the Vista, Lapchi’s Metaphore is the focal point of the luxurious community room. The energy of the abstract expressionist design inspires the room, yet the tonal pattern allows for the perfect soothing retreat for residents.

Ozer’s varying functionality and Metaphore’s organic textures make both designs ripe for customization. To actualize your artistic vision, visit Lapchi Rug Design Studio.
